What does the Bible say about Salvation?
 |
 |
 |
 |
With so many of today's religions boasting of more than one way to God,
one can easily become confused
and misdirected. The teachings of Jesus were much more exclusive. Jesus
taught that the path to God was
a narrow one: "I am the way," taught Jesus...the only way to the Father.
That narrow path to an abundant
life in Christ Jesus starts with a single step of faith mapped out in
the Bible.
This page of text could very well be the most important web page you
will ever read. It is our prayer
that the following biblical facts will have an impact on your life and
will be the starting point on your journey to a new life in the Lord Jesus.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our heart tends to run from God and rebel against Him with our actions.
The Bible calls this "sin."
Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God."
Yet God loves you and wants to save you from sin, to offer you a new
life of hope. Jesus said, "I have
come that you may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
To give you this gift of salvation, God made a way through His Son,
Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 says,
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us."
You receive this gift by faith alone. Ephesians
2:8 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God --
not by works, so that no one can
boast."
Faith is a decision of your heart demonstrated by the actions of your
life. Romans 10:9 says, "If you
confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that
God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved."
If you are choosing right now to believe Jesus died for your sins and to
receive new life through Him,
pray to God now confessing your sins, accepting the free gift of
salvation through Jesus and eternal life
with Him in heaven. Praise God for your new life and your choice to
follow Him!
If you prayed this prayer, I encourage you to share your decision with a
Christian friend or pastor. If
you are not already attending church, we invite you to attend Tolar
Baptist Church. Following Christ's ex-
ample, ask to be baptized as a public expression of your faith.
May God bless you as you seek a personal relationship with Him through
prayer and Bible study. If you have any questions, please
call our pastor, Brother Armo Bentley at 254-835-4375.
